Just Imogen It…

18 Jan

Hello All!!! I hope your weekend and Monday were good, because who the hell likes Monday!? This past weekend was pretty awesome, I bought my wedding dress!!!! YOWZA! Mad props to my main girl Brit sticking it out with me through 3 dress shops! Third time is the charm right!!

This a bit of a throwback to when the Zoya Pixie Dust came out.  If you have followed my blog at all, you know I’m not the biggest fan of glitter.  Zoya polish and I have a love/hate relationship: I love the polish but it doesn’t like me.  I cannot get it to wear on me for a decent time; it’s a real pain in the balls.  When the Pixie Dust came out, I couldn’t resist their promotion, because seriously who?!  I bought Imogen, Vega and London. Below is Zoya Imogen:

Zoya Imogen WM

I believe this is three coats (+ top coat), which at that point it started to get goopy at the tips.  It is a jam packed glitter bomb, slap-yo- mama kind of nail polish!  I think the longest this wore on me was 3 days…..maybe.  If I used a base coat of black maybe it would stay longer??? I’ll try next time and report!

Leave a comment please………………..I get lonely 😦

I hope you enjoyed my ramblings once more and good night!

Seeing Stars

26 May

Happy Memorial Day!!  First, I’ll say thank you to all those that have served and are currently saving and that I do appreciate it greatly.  I was trying to think of something easy and quick, because I did these after I had worked an open to close and had friends coming over too.  I did a white base, Zoya Purity and then decided that I had to have navy and red, duh!  There was no way I was doing stripes, because it would have turned into a blob, so stars it was!  I used China Glaze First Mate for the navy and China Glaze China Rogue for the red stamping on my thumb.

I used PUEEN plate 24 and I just can’t figure out how to get a super crisp image from these plates.  I tried to go back through and clean up the smudges but it just wasn’t working for me.  The picture below is me trying to capture the thumb, which I ROYALLY screwed up so take pity on me, ok?

Look at those marvelous stars people! Doesn’t it make you want to cry?!  So just ignore the right side of my thumb nail and focus on the top middle portion/left side and we’ll be ok.  I wanted to get all the fingers in so you can get the whole stars sensation and patriotism.

If anyone has these plates, let me know your tricks and tips for getting a clear, non-smudgy image to stamp. Thanks again everyone!

I’m back!!!

14 Mar

Holy.Shit. What’s up??!??!  It’s been soooooo long and I have no one to blame but myself.  I hope I haven’t disappointed anyone too much with my lack of being here, and if so, I’m sorry.  WELL, I have been super busy with work, but that won’t be an issue much longer.  I have been doing my nails, sort of, and I have been taking pictures and what not; but let’s face it, my old cam was a bit on the poopy side.  It was really old and I finally broke down and bought a new one!!!!!!!!! Hooray for me and you sexy bitches!  So excited!!! I think the pictures are much, much better and more consistent with correct color portrayal and overall quality.  As always, please give me some helpful tips for better photos, because I just point, focus and snap–and that’s it, so no process whatsoever.

ANYWAY,  recently Zoya had a sale buy 3 polishes for shipping cost only, which was great because I wanted the Pixie Dusts which were like $10 a pop.  I bought Zoya Payton with my other two polishes, and I’m so mad at myself for waiting so long to buy this one!  It is gorgeous!!!  It is a dark purple/red with a scattered holo (I think?); it’s just effin amazing ok?! Get off my back!

Zoya PaytonSee, I told you so!!! Amazing!! It’s so gorgeous in sunlight, and alas I do my nails at night so……sorry? Forgive me??  Well, you just have to buy it now to see what I’m saying and then thank me later.

I will be posting more (hopefully), I just have to get my shit together!

Polka Time!!

14 Oct

Hola pretty pumpkins!  What is going on???  Me? Just chillin like nothin you know.  Pretty uneventful times in my life, which is good, because that means less drama for me! Yay!  I spent some time with my friends Brit and Joe (what up playaz!) on Saturday, it was a good time.  I wasn’t going to go at first; but I went and glad I did, learned some pretty awesome, off-color jokes at that party, which I won’t tell you, so don’t ask!  I haven’t had much time to do my nails, they were naked for almost a week 😮  Shit was crazy, but I recently bought and received two new polishes from Zoya, Pinta and Demi.  I have used Pinta already and it is a GORGEOUS deep purple/navy creme, I am so glad they made it!

On to the more pressing matters, the last manicure I did with some nail art, were some dots! Surprise!  I used China Glaze Fifth Avenue as the base coat,  the white dots are Zoya Purity, and the dark purple dots might be China Glaze Urban Night.  I can’t remember what it was, but I use it a lot for nail art stuff so it’s a good chance.  Also, another exciting development is that my RIGHT hand makes a debut!!!!!  I usually photograph my left hand, because it’s just easier and plus, I liked the way my right hand turned out versus my left hand.  Here it is:

If I find out which purple I used, I’ll re-edit the pictures or update or some shit.  Anyway, there you have it! Sorry for not sticking to my previous comment of posting more, but it just slips away from me between work and what not.  Ok, you pretties, I’ll talk to you soon!

Auf Wiedersehen!

So Dizzy!

19 Sep

Hey there fellow nail lovers!!! What up?  Not much on this home front, just the same ol’, same ol’ bullshit.  I realized that a lot of my issues center around money, but whose don’t right? So if someone wants to send me like $1 million dollars, I’d be cool with that.  Just putting that out there.  We all know that’s not going to happen, so let’s move on shall we??  I have a confession to make—I haven’t bought a nail polish in about 4 months *gasps heard everywhere*  I know, I know, it’s disgusting 🙂  I have been searching through my stash for new to me polishes, aka the ones I have forgotten, and thinking of interesting ways to use them.  Below is an attempt at such:

Zoya Megan and ChG Evening Seduction SwirlsThe base is Zoya Megan, the stamping polish is China Glaze Evening Seduction and the plate is PUEEN 13.  I really liked the effect that came out with the contrasting polishes; it was a lot more noticeable in person.  I just LOVE when an idea comes to fruition and looks amazing!  I rarely have that, so please don’t rain on my parade, or if you must please do so nicely.  It also appears that my nails will never be longer than this, so that makes me sad but I try to cover it with some pretty pretties!  My nails go through spurts, but I have a problem with peeling and breaking of corners which makes my nails a little lopsided at times.  What can a girl do?  I really want to get my hands on some OPI Nail Envy or Nailtiques 2 formula but they are so effin’ expensive! Jesus, kick a girl a break once in a while!  As always, clicking on the picture will make it larger!  I hope you guys and dolls like it as much as I do!

Drop me a line in the comments, I do and would like to hear from you on anything!  Thanks in advance!

I Salute Thee

5 Jul

Hello everybody!!! Before you say anything, yes I know I’m a day late but damn give me a break!  So, how was everyone’s 4th of July?? I went to my boyfriend’s parent house for dinner and it was delicious!!!!!  She made ribs, beans, salad, corn on the cob, and yes, homemade chocolate cake with homemade chocolate icing and oh yes, it was delicious!!!  I know what you all really came here for, so I’ll cut the jibber jabber.

This post serves as a double whammy!!!  As you know, it was my 4th of July mani and a product review!!! My very first!!!!  I do believe I got the vapors *in a southern accent*  A company named KKCenterHK, which sells numerous items.  They approached me with several options and I oped to do the Nail Star Glitter Mix, which is PERFECT for the 4th of July!  The stars are red, white and blue and quite reflective, like little mirrors on my nails, but less dangerous.  The one I chose is listed as Mix Star Glitter.  As soon as I receive these I knew exactly what to do!!!! Without further ado:

4thOfJulySwatchThis is just a swatch picture with flash before I added the sparkles, which the white is Zoya Purity, red is China Glaze China Rogue and the navy is China Glaze First Mate.  I love First Mate, I can’t say it enough, you need to get it! BUY IT!

4thOfJulyWithStarsThis is the sparkles!!!!!!  Aren’t they so perfect and patriotic??  These came in multiple colors, but I picked these ones out of the tub and it was worth it!!!  See, here’s my problem.  I am not artsy/crafty so when I have to “glue” things to my nails, I’m just going in blind, balls to the walls cray.  I guess I didn’t wait long enough for my base to dry, because the nail glue made the color run and it got on some of the stars.  My bad.  On the review part:  these were easy to work with, I could place them quickly enough so I didn’t glue them on myself.  The only issue I had is that they started to curl about a day after wear, which I assume is from the heat and hot water from showering and perhaps not enough top coat?? I don’t know, but I liked them and will mos def be using them again in the near future!

So there you have it my pretties!!!  4th of July Manicure and a review, what?!  I be mulitaskin’ y’all!

The opinions above are mine and mine alone; I was not paid to give such opinions.  The nail art decals were provided to me by KKCenterHK for a product review.

Seeing Spots

22 Apr

Hey everybody!!! How are you on this fine Monday night? Can I get a what, what Jay-Z style?! Hell yeah, you party animals!  Nothing much going on in my world– apartment searching is the only big thing really.

Anyway, you all know my love affair with stamping, and that I have been having trouble with the PUEEN plates.  I doth think I solved my problem!!!  I discovered if I swipe from the left corner diagonally, and then once from left to right of the image it comes out perfect!!!  So with my new courage and stamping courage I picked PUEEN 04 this time.

Stamping+dots+me= glorious nails!!!! MUA HA HA HA!!!!!  Sorry, guys…….back on topic!  So I saw these awesome dots and some of them were reversals of the other dots, so some were filled in and others weren’t.  I always do stamping with black so I decided to mix it up and add some color.  I painted my nails Fade Into Hue from China Glaze, which is a gorgeous periwinkle creme, and stamped this image using China Glaze Liquid Leather.  Then I took a dotting tool and filled in the filled in dots with Zoya Purity.  Below is the master piece:

ChG Fade Into Hue with Pueen 04 Stamping, Zoya PurityI love the way this came out!  The ring finger is a bit askew, but I always have to get like 2 or 3 fingers done before I get it evened out.  I thought it was a nice way of adding some color to the dark-colored palette.  This is actually the mani I am currently sporting until tomorrow when I change it.  I love this base color!!! China Glaze is DEFINITELY the best in making cremes, they are flawless and the color is amazing!!

Let me know what you guys think of this too and what other colors I should have used or use in the future!!!  Plus, don’t forget if you click the picture it will become bigger, like whoa!

I will see YOU later, have a good night everyone!!!

Now That’s a Fire!

Happy Tax Day everyone!!!!  I just filed my taxes and I get back a whopping $3 from Federal!!!! I can finally buy that Chanel bag now!  What a joke, I hate taxes and paying out the ass every paycheck…..damn you government!!!! I think Ron Swanson would be proud lol.

Well, I do believe that my first post to this blog last year was on April 1st, so my blog-irthday was a few days ago and I was too busy to even notice!!!! How sad!!!!!  I don’t really do anything for my birthday, so I guess it’s only fitting that I didn’t do anything for this one too.  I was thinking about doing a giveaway with some of the polishes I haven’t used and probably won’t use, but then that just seems like the cheap skate way to go, or “economical” as I like to say.  Anyway, thanks for sticking around everyone that follows/read this blog.  I really do appreciate it, I didn’t really expect much when I started it and the fact that you guys actually enjoy my random ramblings and potty mouth, is quite refreshing!  LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!! (Please don’t stalk me :-x)

I was smitten with Zoya’s Blaze when it first debuted and I recently obtained it during one of their sales and it’s gorgeous.  I guess one could say it is a scattered holo, I don’t really care what it is called, shit is amazing ok?  Get it, wear it and love it you fools!Zoya BlazeI messed with the highlights and what not so you could see the holo in the polish.  This is a really gorgeous color and I’m not one for reds as you know, but it was more of a deep red-ish burgundy color on me.  Beautiful.

Enjoy, as always!!!!!!  Thanks again for following my blog and looking at it! I really do appreciate it, thanks everyone!!!!!!

Squigs on my Fings?

5 Oct

Hey party people! What’s crackin?? Let’s turn this b**ch up!!!!  So I just woke up like half an hour ago and I felt like I should type up a post to give you guys something new to ogle.  Shall ogling ensue, it will be stupendous. I am also currently watching the new NCIS episode, [SPOILER ALERT] the one where they have to get psych evaluations after the bombing, poor Abby!

Anyway, I have an old mani for you–I did this one a few weeks ago, like the end of September, and I wasn’t too pleased with it, but it’s not fair to only show you the ones that I like right? There is just something I don’t like.

Base Color: Zoya Petra

Stamping Color: Finger Paints Papier Mache

Stamp: BM 314

Even looking at it now, it just seems meh to me ya know!?!  Let me know what you guys think!  Drop me a line, spark up a convo.  I really do and would like to hear from you guys.

Be still my heart

5 Aug

Hey people!!!! What up??  So today we had that awful storm hit us here in WNY, so I’m writing this post instead of walking to Starbucks in a god dam monsoon. Lucky you right? 😉  Anyway, I was debating for a while to even post this mani, because I really don’t like it.  So this base color is suppose to be a dusty sage, so why does mine look so blue? I’m confused.  I do like this color though, maybe the blue stamping is making it look extra blue.  I don’t know.  Maybe I should try it with different colors or something, so here it is!!!!!

Base Color: Zoya Bevin

Stamping Color: China Glaze First Mate

Stamp: BM 317

Maybe I’m just being too critical, but this just looks meh to me.  Drop me a comment if you think otherwise or if you share the same opinion as me!  Now I’m off to watch Criminal Minds and make more coffee?? You can never have too much coffee! Bye bitchez!!!
