Hey you sitting there! I hope you’re ready for a sweet swatch (try saying that three times fast)! I had been trying to avoid Sally’s Beauty Supply lately due to the really good sales and I didn’t want to blow all of my money. I caved and went in to a Sally’s I usually don’t go to and they had the new collection from China Glaze for the movie The Giver. I know absolutely nothing about the Giver, but there was a gorgeous creme that I had to have! If you remember the Essie Neons that recently launched, I’m Addicted (which I have, but not used) is a bright blue gorgeous neon and this is pretty much the creme version of it. Feast your eyes on Capacity to See Beyond:
I mean, LOOK AT THIS!!!!!!! ^^^^^^^^ Doesn’t it make you want to slap ya momma?? I was having some issues with application; it seemed really thick and goopy, maybe because they were trying to make it a one coater? Nonetheless, this is a gorgeous, bright, rich blue! I had a girl at work ask me why I didn’t stamp over it and I told her that it was just too pretty, and I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
That’s all I have for now and I’ll see you sexy bitches later!
What up, what up?? Hope everyone has their plans set and made for tomorrow!!! I will be working til 4 and then I’m free!! I have no plans, but who knows. No need to go anywhere to see fireworks considering every house on our street does their own in the middle of the street. Safety first kids! One year it was so bad, we had to close all of our windows due to the smell of sulfur.
Unfortunately, you will not be seeing any 4th of July nails from me due to my plan completely fucking tanking! So pissed, but I like what I did anyway, so win/win?? I had a great idea of a two-colored stamp on white nails and it looked so cute in my head, but apparently that’s where it stopped. These nails coming at you in this post are no way related to the 4th of July so…..I guess that’s my segue!
Whenever I do dots, I always seem to do them in this curve like you see above, which maybe you have noticed. I don’t know why, so that’s about it for that. I tried to do a gradient dotticure that I saw on Chalkboard Nails, but mine did not end up anything like hers. Maybe it scared me into not doing dotticures, so instead you get this. The dots are China Glaze Urban night (deep purple), Fade Into Hue (periwinkle blue) and the base is OPI My Vampire is Buff. I wanted something light, because I tend to gravitate towards dark colors, so this is what I conjured up.
Tomorrow is 4th of July and I shall maybe have another post for you, but if I don’t “see” you then, have a safe, long weekend!
Hey there party people!!!! We are finally having nice weather on a REGULAR basis here in Buffalo!!! It’s amazing and it’s so nice to be able to walk out of the house coat free!!! I hope all is well with my fellow readers/bloggers. I haven’t been doing much nail art, just keeping up my nails with color so they don’t look so awful. I have also suffered several breaks on my swatch hand and the other, so that doesn’t inspire much. On a completely unrelated note, I have been binging on shows and I started watching The Wire from the beginning and it’s so good and odd. The first season is awesome, second season is booooring, season three is meh, and I’m in season 4 and so far so good.
This is a manicure I did a long time ago and by far the best stamping I have ever done!!! I absolutely LOVED this manicure and it came out exactly like I wanted and it was just gorgeous! The base color is China Glaze Urban Night:
This is one of my all time favorite purples, it’s from the China Glaze Metro Collection and it’s just fucking awesome!
Now for the grand finale!!!!
I can’t even express how much I loved this!!! In person, it was subtle but classy and my co-worker/friend Heather said that they looked like the Sally Hansen Salon Effects, which made me feel proud and brought a tear to my eye. Sorry to brag, but GOD DAMN SON!!!!!! The plate is BM 406 and I highly recommend it playas.
*drop the mic*
Hey, what up? Your eyes do not deceive you, this is another post!!!! OMG, like wha?? I think I just tinkled a little…how about you? I’ve really started to get back into stamping, because I can’t draw worth a shit. I mean, if you ask me to draw a circle, you’ll get an oval or some other random shape. The drawing skill must have skipped me because my older brother and younger sister are incredible artists, me?? Not so much. Also, for a while I had convinced myself that stamping takes way too long, and that I didn’t want to ruin my mani if I messed up the stamping.
Discovering stamping plates was the best thing for me, because after seeing Sarah (Chalkboard Nails) and Sammy (the Nailasaurus) and their KILLER art/skill, you start to feel a bit inadequate, like “shit, that’s not real. Did they really draw that?”…then you start weeping into your acetone.
At first, I couldn’t figure out what the hell this stamp was: arrows? fish bones? I had no idea, so I just went with it anyway and I was pleasantly surprised on how it looked and turned out. I was particularly proud of these nails because I got them ALL to face the same direction ON BOTH HANDS.
The base is OPI My Vampire is Buff, black is Tani brand, blue is China Glaze First Mate and the plate is BM 410. When I looked at the OPI bottle I had just used, I was confused because I had completely forgot that I owned MVIB. It makes you happy and then you realized “oh shit, maybe I have too many if I can’t remember what I own?” Then I laughed because that’s crazy talk!
See ya later peeps!
Hola pretty pumpkins! What is going on??? Me? Just chillin like nothin you know. Pretty uneventful times in my life, which is good, because that means less drama for me! Yay! I spent some time with my friends Brit and Joe (what up playaz!) on Saturday, it was a good time. I wasn’t going to go at first; but I went and glad I did, learned some pretty awesome, off-color jokes at that party, which I won’t tell you, so don’t ask! I haven’t had much time to do my nails, they were naked for almost a week 😮 Shit was crazy, but I recently bought and received two new polishes from Zoya, Pinta and Demi. I have used Pinta already and it is a GORGEOUS deep purple/navy creme, I am so glad they made it!
On to the more pressing matters, the last manicure I did with some nail art, were some dots! Surprise! I used China Glaze Fifth Avenue as the base coat, the white dots are Zoya Purity, and the dark purple dots might be China Glaze Urban Night. I can’t remember what it was, but I use it a lot for nail art stuff so it’s a good chance. Also, another exciting development is that my RIGHT hand makes a debut!!!!! I usually photograph my left hand, because it’s just easier and plus, I liked the way my right hand turned out versus my left hand. Here it is:
ChG Fifth Avenue, Zoya Purity and ChG Urban Night (?)
If I find out which purple I used, I’ll re-edit the pictures or update or some shit. Anyway, there you have it! Sorry for not sticking to my previous comment of posting more, but it just slips away from me between work and what not. Ok, you pretties, I’ll talk to you soon!
HEY EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!! I’m back to much of your pleasure! OMG, I missed you guys so much!!! I haven’t blogged in I don’t know how long. So long story short, I was having computer issues and I couldn’t edit photos and such, but we got that all fixed and BOOM! Here it is. I’m still in the process of transferring pictures, so I have only new manicures to show you. I know, how awful! I am obsessed with splatter manicures as you may know, and behold! another one! The base coat is China Glaze Liquid Leather, the white is Finger Paints Papier Mache and the hot pink is Orly Passion Fruit.
I also have a new watermark, which I’m not sure I like. I can’t seem to remember what font I was using on my last one, so I’ll figure it out eventually. So the order I did this in was black, pink and white, which didn’t turn out too well. On my other hand, I did black, white and then pink, which looked TEN TIMES better! The white overshadowed the hot pink because it was so sheer, so I thought to myself “hey, you put white under neons” and voila! it worked fabulously on my right hand. Well, enough of the chit-chat y’all, so expect more from me, more frequently!
Hey everybody!!! How are you on this fine Monday night? Can I get a what, what Jay-Z style?! Hell yeah, you party animals! Nothing much going on in my world– apartment searching is the only big thing really.
Anyway, you all know my love affair with stamping, and that I have been having trouble with the PUEEN plates. I doth think I solved my problem!!! I discovered if I swipe from the left corner diagonally, and then once from left to right of the image it comes out perfect!!! So with my new courage and stamping courage I picked PUEEN 04 this time.
Stamping+dots+me= glorious nails!!!! MUA HA HA HA!!!!! Sorry, guys…….back on topic! So I saw these awesome dots and some of them were reversals of the other dots, so some were filled in and others weren’t. I always do stamping with black so I decided to mix it up and add some color. I painted my nails Fade Into Hue from China Glaze, which is a gorgeous periwinkle creme, and stamped this image using China Glaze Liquid Leather. Then I took a dotting tool and filled in the filled in dots with Zoya Purity. Below is the master piece:
I love the way this came out! The ring finger is a bit askew, but I always have to get like 2 or 3 fingers done before I get it evened out. I thought it was a nice way of adding some color to the dark-colored palette. This is actually the mani I am currently sporting until tomorrow when I change it. I love this base color!!! China Glaze is DEFINITELY the best in making cremes, they are flawless and the color is amazing!!
Let me know what you guys think of this too and what other colors I should have used or use in the future!!! Plus, don’t forget if you click the picture it will become bigger, like whoa!
I will see YOU later, have a good night everyone!!!
First, I would like to give a shout out to Varnished Reputation for nominating me for another Liebster Award. I am extremely flattered and honored that she would think of me for this!!! Thanks again and you rock!!! So show her some love for fucks sake!!!
Happy Easter everyone (for those that celebrate)!!! I’m not doing much today, I’ll be making pork chops later for my boyfriend and I considering we are chilling at home this Easter. I’m not really that big into holidays really, which I’m sure there are some religious folks saying “OH MY GOSH!!!” lol Oh well, the only holidays I really like and look forward to are New Year’s and Halloween; New Years for the booze and Halloween for the candy!! AM I RIGHT!??! I know I am, so we will move on. This mani I wore like last month or so and I fucking loved the way this turned out!!!! The base color/stamping color is China Glaze Urban Night, the silver holographic is Julep Rebel and stamp is BM 322. Julep Rebel is my first Julep polish and it was pretty good, considering it was a holographic polish, but it chipped easily but whatever I guess. I love this purple from the China Glaze Metro Collection (2011)!! I first found this color is a nail salon and instantly fell in love and took forever for me to obtain, I had to get it on Ebay, but so glad I did! It’s the BEST plum creme ever!!! *swoon*
I do apologize for my cuticles, they look really dry in here and it’s not really that great. Anyway, do you see this color??!?! Amazing right?!?! LOVE IT!! I just really like the way this came out, love it!
What do you guys think?? Any suggestions of colors for the houndstooth pattern?

Howdy all!!! Just for the record, I have no clue how I have went this long without listening to Lana Del Reys’ album Born to Die. It’s amazing. Heaven. Omg, so good (I’m listening to it as I write). Spring is on its way!!! Is anyone else excited about the new spring collections coming out??? I got a 4 of the new China Glaze Avant Garden colors and they are amazing–formulas are great and so is the saturation of color. I love a good creme finish and in turn I have a ton of them! My favorite navy is China Glaze First Mate–great application and levels itself out which is a really good quality for a creme. Also, I am subscribed to the Nail Art Society, as you may know; the last one contained these LOVE nail charms/decals. One day at work I was just daydreaming and thinking of how I can use them and thought I could do a french tip with them. Here is the evidence:
It came out just like I wanted!!! You will most likely not see me with a french tip manicure, because my nails are too short normally, so this is as close as it gets. This is also my first time working with nail charms or anything of this nature.
Few issues I encountered:
- These are incredibly hard to grab so I used tweezers to pick them up.
- These DO NOT lay flat so I lost three in the shower the next day and then the rest later that day at work from snagging on things
- If you use too much nail glue, it messes up your base coat as you can see on my middle finger
I first used nail glue and tried to bend the decals to my nail shape, so they would lay flatter, but that really didn’t work. After the nail glue dried, I used topcoat thinking this would help them last longer—WRONG. It just added more top coat so nothing really accomplished there. Anyway, I liked the way they looked and how it came out and plus, you can’t go wrong with gold and navy!
***clicking on the picture will make it larger as well***
What do you guys think? Would you ever use these?
